The chairman of the CDU has resigned

The chairman of the CDU in Schleswig-Holstein has resigned because of a love relationship with a 16-year-olds. Christian von Boetticher, however, wants to remain party leader in parliament in Kiel.

Kiel - Nine months before the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein CDU enters top candidate Christian von Boetticherback. The 40-year-old resigned his post as state chairman, but will remain party leader in Parliament. Von Boetticher moves so after much pressure from the party the consequence of a now-ended affair: the unmarried politician of his time last year had a relationship with a then 16-year-olds.

"Yes, it's true, I had fallen in the spring of 2010 a young woman and have been with her for several months together," the CDU politician said on Sunday evening in Kiel. He spoke of an "extraordinary love", which was accepted by the surroundings.
