Eat fruits and vegetables can reduce heart disease


Survey data show that consumption of fruits and vegetables can reduce heart disease by 30%, exercise 14%; if the combination of both, with better results.
According to Ministry of Health, heart health statistics show 15 people die every day in Singapore cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke). In 2009, the local mortality, cardiovascular disease and 31.6%, which means that each of the three, one person died from these diseases.
Elizabeth Medical Center cardiovascular, pulmonary surgery senior consultant Chen Yan Sen said in an interview from the above figures show that people all the time by the cardiovascular problems. He said that from 2007 to 2009, an average of 17,000 deaths, of which about 5500 with cardiovascular disease; coronary heart disease between 19.2 to 20.1%; stroke ranged from 8.0 to 8.7%; other heart disease between 4.0 to 4.4%. As new cases of heart failure disease is an average of more than 3,000 cases.
