Cologne starts next Thursday in the exhibition games Gamecock. One of the big themes are games for mobile phones. The small programs (apps) for smart phones are the new millions of business of the gaming industry.

Alone on the Internet platform from Apple (for iPhone, iPod, iPad) in early June were 425 000 applications for download, 100 of 000 matches apps. Many are free, however, to make you want to the paid full version later in the game for free helpful extras to sell or simply sell display advertising.

In Germany alone last year, 13 million game apps on smart phones and tablet computers have been loaded. The industry association BIU anticipates double-digit growth.
